Rich form of Embroidery KASAB


Fine metal thread called Zari is woven into or embroidered onto many fabrics, involves threading actual fibers of gold or silver onto fabrics to create the embroidery and patterns called KASAB.

When the wire is wrapped or woven to form intricate textures and shapes, it is called Zardozi or Dabka. 

Zardozi often includes crystals, sequins, and pearl beading

Zardozi and Aari are two classifications with a different way in needle holding. 

Zardozi is embroidered with simple hand needle thus involving more effort.

Aari the needle is fixed to a stick,  like crochet which makes the hole in the fabric and thread, can be pulled both ways.

Dabka uses spring like metal wire . the wired threads are embroidered on the fabric in such a way that the needle passes through the middle of the design.

Basically all the forms of these embroidery is used in making heavy garments usually wore in weddings and also parities.

 Minimal work done to associate the Fabric design to complement with Kasab and beads. Light Zardozi.
Sequin work is also done with  hand embroidery using kasab.
